I feel like I am in a little Instagram community sometimes, and like it actually feel surreal. People usual follow their friends and famous stars on Instagram, but my feed is literally "instastores", and the odd photo of a friend.. ha ha. Anyway I was questioned this week about why I buy off Instagram and also HOW do I buy off Instagram... I didn't even want to share my little community I created on my feed - now thats pretty selfish... but I just wanted to keep everything for myself!! Ha ha but you know I usually post things on my Instagram that I truly love, usually handmade things that I find on Instagram and I guess I should let my secret out of buying things off Instagram.
Why do I buy most things from Instagram...
1. When following stores I start to feel a connection and relate to the makers behind the scene ( a little stalking is always done)
2. Most hand made things are made with passion
3. It's super easy and you literally can buy something you love when you first see it
4. I am supporting a small business and helping the economy
5. You can find some really unique things, that you can't get anywhere else
6. Also, the quality of the product is worth the price
7. Instagram shops are constantly on my feed and it is such a great form of marketing, I fall in-love with everything.
So how do I buy off Instagram....
It usually depends on the store!! Sometimes I buy directly off Instagram and pay using Paypal. Sometimes I see something on my feed and then browse through their websites provided in their bio.
OR I buy off their ETSY! WHAT IS ETSY? Well a quick google came up with.. "The heart and soul of Etsy is our global community: the creative entrepreneurs who use Etsy to sell what they make or curate, the shoppers looking for things they can’t find anywhere else, the manufacturers who partner with Etsy sellers to help them grow, and the Etsy employees who maintain and nurture our marketplace."
..and I think that pretty much hits the mark... Sometimes I feel like Etsy is a fancy Ebay ! - the Is that crazy? Am I turning crazy? Etsy is very user friendly, you literally can search an item you are looking for and the location you would like, the colour you would like. It is an amazing place to start looking at all the local stores around you.
Actually after going onto Etsy, I have found some of the coolest little stores that I have just started following on Instagram, its like a circle. I am obsessed, I need to be stopped. Send Help....
This is a short and sweet post tonight, just to prove that I am still alive.
But in all seriousness, I am giving everyone homework this week to discover a new store in their location via etsy. Feel free to leave me a comment on Instagram or my blog or email me so I can also check it out.
